Pot and plant size guide

When you are shopping on line it can be hard to know what size the plants are and what you are getting. This size guide is to help you know what you are getting.

Starter/Plug Plants
Starter plants (often known as plug plants) are cost effective way of buying plants. All of our plants are grwon in a 4.5cm by 5cm plug. This is bigger than most nurseries but we prefer to have a more established plant. The plants are well rooted and ready to be planted up either into a pot or (if the time of year is right) straight into the garden.
6cm Potted Plants
This is the perfect size for chilli and pepper plants in the early part of the year. In the early months of their life chillies can be a bit delicate. That is why we prefer to send them to you in a small pot. It reduces stress on the plant and helps keep the roots both protected and a little warmer.
9cm Potted Plants
9cm pots are the one of the most cost effective ways of buying plants. All of our 9cm plants have been growing for a long enough period of time to make sure you get a well rooted established plant. This size is perfect for planting out (when the weather permist) and means you get a established garden quicker.
1 litre Jumbo Potted Plants
These are big pots. Around 13cm in diameter and around the same depth. This takes a lot of the growing time away from you giving you are far bigger plant. This pot size is often ready from mid to late April onwards.

Plant Description

Mojito Mint herb plug plant. The best Mint to make Mojito's with

If you love a Mojito this is the Mint for you. This Mint is the true variety to add to your mojito. In fact there isn’t a Cuban bartender worth his salt who would use any other. It’s simple really, Mojito Mint (Mentha × villosa) is native to Cuba and can be found growing all over the island. So when it came to making a drink that called for Mint this was the authentic choice. The flavour of mojito Mint is like no other, it has a warm, deeper scent than many other Mints and doesn’t have the same sweetness of Spearmint. The plant itself has a lovely compact habit making it a great choice for a pot next to the patio or in a window box. As with all Mints make sure you contain this Mint as left to it’s own devices it may spread more than you’d want. The leaves have a very pleasing curl to them with a slight silvery tinge. Whilst this Mint is the perfect addition to you mojito it can be used in any way you would use any other Mint. It makes a lovely tea as well as being good for summer drinks. It’s not my first choice for potatoes or for use in a curry but will still bring a lovely minty taste and scent. To sum up If you want a true mojito flavour you need this Mint. It’s more than happy in a pot and will fill your garden with scent.
